Cultural Tours Fall 2009 - Istanbul
8 10 2009After breakfast, we will visit the Sokullu Mehmet Pasa Mosque in Kadirga. A private reciting of the “Mevlit,” a Turkish versed hymn that praises the Prophet Mohammed, will be performed by the clergy of the mosque.
We will continue our tour to the Surp Hiresdagabad Armenian Church, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate at the Fener & Balat districts. Then, we will continue with the Jewish Museum in Karaköy and the Neva Shalom Synagogue in Şişhane.
Lunch will be hosted by the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Spice Market [17th Century
] introduce the Turkish cuisine, eating culture and the use of spices. An excursion to Istinye Park Mall allows some free time to experience this latest addition to Istanbul’s urban lifestyle.
Dinner at Naz Turkish Cuisine Restaurant. A private performance of Turkish Classical Music called “Fasil” will accompany the tastes of authentic Turkish cuisine.
