It was a very impressive presentation and we thank the Turkish Cultural Foundation. The visit to Turkey was a real treat and we would love to have the opportunity one day to complete the second part of the tour. You have a very beautiful country, full of history and we enjoyed seeing all of it.

The trip to Turkey has been an experience for years to treasure. The picturesque portrayal of ancient homes, commercial trading centers, textile and carpet industry, as well as local delicacies emphasized the rich customs and history of Turkey. The overpowering flow of ancient cultures blended into modern ones is fascinating; it proves that Turkey is a destination not only for vacation but cultural exchange.

I wish to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Turkish Cultural Foundation for not only making this trip possible but for its going well beyond the “call of duty” to introduce us through a series of dinners to a truly outstanding array of interesting guests: artists, sculptors, business persons, and writers, all of whom deepened our understanding of Turkey and made our trip so memorable. While most of us had some appreciation of the contributions that Turkey and the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires made to civilization, few of us may have realized how central Turkey was to the 3 major Monotheistic religions. We heard and learned much of Mustapha Kemal Ataturk’s accomplishments in the field of education, improving the status of women, and bringing Turkey into the family of western nations. No discussion of our stay would be complete without acknowledging how wonderful the food was in Turkey. One meal stands out: the special Ottoman Heritage meal that we shared at the Asitane Restaurant in Istanbul, a truly an unforgettable feast. I am sure that we will be ambassadors who will spread knowledge and understanding about Turkey in the U.S.

Turkey is custodian of a global historical heritage that needs to be shared among all people. The TCF should be applauded for its vision, dedication and organization in bringing the richness of this historical treasure to the world. The TCF programs are doing a remarkable job in exposing people to the history, culture and life in Turkey.

The dimmest treats with exceptional gourmet and traditional menu, friendly chats, a fascinating night view of Bosphorus under glittering stars on the sky and ornamentally decorated bridge with lights were truly a pleasure for all five senses and I will never forget it in my lifetime.

I would not have learned more if I had studied Turkey briefs for a year than the time on this tour. Turkey is a gem that has much opportunity for Americans. The Turkish Cultural Foundation program has left an indelible mark on me and will have a ripple effect when I meet much people and talk about my experience and increased knowledge. Thank you very much.

The Turkish Cultural Foundation has pulled together an extremely informative 9 day tour. The history of these areas breathtaking and it was related with great enthusiasm by our intrepid guide. We sampled a wide variety of delicious Turkish cuisine and had a chance to chat with representatives of the Turkish art and educational and business world. We are very grateful to the Foundation for including us in the Fall Tour. Turkey and its citizens are extraordinary.

Visit to historical sites
I was really fascinated to learn more about Turkish Culture through this absolutely wonderful tour. The visits to historic sites of Ottoman, Byzantine and Roman Empires were very insightful.
Food
The lunches and dinners were absolutely delicious. The mixing of claim Turkish food and modern conservative Turkish cuisine were fabulous. Not to mention “Turkish Delight” when you combine this with the breathtaking views of Bosphorus. It makes the experience incredibly memorable.
Turkish People
I fell in love with the Turkish people. They are so friendly, caring and welcoming.
Turkish Cultural Foundation
TCF representatives were very gracious and lovely. The logistics of the trip were meticulous and kept the tempo of the excitement alive all the way. They made sure that we are most comfortable with our trip.
