- Visit Sultanhan and Obruk Caravansaries on our way to Konya which was the capital of the Seljuk Turks in the 13th Century. Konya was taken from the Byzantine Empire by the emerging Seljuk Turks in 1072 or 1081 and soon became the capital of the Seljuk sultanate. The city hosts the Mevlana Museum is also known for its theological school of whirling dervishes.
